This week, some ECE-4 families may have received an email regarding DPS SchoolChoice results. That message was sent in error, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion or concern this may have caused.
For the 2026–27 school year, families applying to ECE-4 were required to complete both the Colorado Universal Preschool (UPK) application and the DPS SchoolChoice application. In the SchoolChoice system, families could only select “Universal Preschool Colorado (UPK)” rather than ranking individual schools.
Due to this process, some families who submitted an ECE-4 application in DPS SchoolChoice mistakenly received a notification stating that their student was waitlisted for Universal Preschool Colorado (UPK). This message was incorrect.
What You Need to Know
If you have submitted your UPK application, you will receive your official school match through the Colorado Universal Preschool system.
Please log in to your UPK portal to view your match and application status.
School matches will not appear in the DPS SchoolChoice system until after April 1.
All matches will be processed through the UPK system until that date.
We truly apologize for this error and appreciate your patience as the systems are aligned.
