| Along with other Colorado school districts, DPS is working with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) to continue expanding its Early Childhood Education program by rolling out a new enrollment process for Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado. This new program will provide additional funding opportunities for our ECE-providing schools and district partners, including charter schools and private ECE providers.This means that the SchoolChoice process for ECE families will be much different than in previous years. ECE-3 and ECE-4 families must complete both a SchoolChoice application and a UPK Colorado application. The UPK Colorado application will open on Tuesday, Jan. 17 and close Feb. 15 — please note that this window and application is separate from our DPS SchoolChoice window and application (Jan. 13-Feb. 14).
