Playground Use & Pets

Dear Palmer Families,

Due to the warm weather, there has been a greater desire from families to utilize the playground during school hours. We must enforce the district policy to restrict access to facilities while students are present. The playground is not available for use during school hours, including half-day ECE.  

Please see the following information regarding school facilities and pets from the DPS Guidelines for Public Use:

  • DPS facilities belong to the school.
  • The primary purpose of the DPS facilities is to implement the regular instruction program. 
  • School district facilities may be made available to the community when not in use for school activities.
  • Public use will be accommodated after-hours and weekends whenever the facility is not being utilized by the school. 
  • For safety and health (allergies) reasons pets are not allowed to be brought to school or on school grounds.

Please help keep our students safe. Community cooperation and support are appreciated.
