Spring Drama Day 2024 Registration

Dear Palmer 3rd-5th Grade Families,

Spring Drama Day is coming up and will take place at Denver School of the Arts on Saturday, April 6 from 8AM-1PM! 

Spring Drama Day consists of workshops for students in grades 3-8 who enjoy theater. The cast of Denver School of the Arts production of Kinky Boots will be performing part of their show. Pizza will be for sale for lunch and registration is $45 per student. This is a fundraiser to help the cast perform at the International Thespian Festival this summer as one of nine HS shows selected in the Nation.

Drama Day Workshops Include:

• Stage Combat: How to fall, slap, punch, and pull hair safely onstage.
• Musical Theatre: After fun warm up games learn a dance to a song from The Greatest Showman!
• Let’s make a sock puppet!
• So you’re going to the DPS Shakespeare Festival? Come learn about iambic pentameter and punctuation in Shakespearian text.
• Physical Theatre: How to create a 3-dimensional character.
• How to be a leader in your Specials class and in school!
• Stage Makeup: Blood and Gore Galore.
• Beatboxing and Music Improv
• Make your own play in one hour
• Dance like the Cast: Learn a number from the show!
