Rachel Martinez

Visual Arts Teacher

Hello Palmer Families!

I am so excited to be teaching art at Palmer this year!

I am a Colorado Native who grew up in Littleton, CO. I love our beautiful state and I am happy to call it home. In my free time, I enjoy painting, traveling, exercising, and taking advantage of the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. I love being outside! I have three cats: Ava, Freddie, and Oliver. I also own my own business selling my personal artwork. Check it out at rachelmart.com!

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education with Honors with a Minor in Early Childhood Education with an Emphasis in Painting from The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, CO. I also earned my Master’s Degree in Teaching Diverse Learners with an Endorsement in Special Education and English as a Second Language from UNCl. This is my first year teaching and I can’t wait to learn and grow alongside my students.

As an art teacher I believe that art is a place for experimentation, play, and expression. I want my class to be a place where kids can come have fun, experiment with new art materials, and create artwork they are proud of. I find I translate this same philosophy into my own painting. You are never too old to play with art materials!

See you in the art room!
